Obadah H. Attar, B.D.S., DScD, Certificate in Endodontics, Post Doctoral Fellowship in Implantology

Dr. Obadah Attar graduated from the Advanced Education in Endodontics post-graduate program at University of Missouri – Kansas City in 2009. During his residency, Dr. Attar had a special interest in dental implants, and observing the current trend at which the American Association of Endodontists is going, he wanted to have structured training in dental implants to help him in his career as an educator. Dr. Attar joined Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine post-doctoral fellowship program in implantology immediately after and completed 12 months training in surgical implants. During his fellowship, Dr. Attar was exposed to a variety of clinical procedures ranging from immediate implants to site augmentation and sinus lifts. After completing the fellowship program, Dr. Attar was accepted in the Doctor of Science Program in Biomaterials at Boston University. During which, his research group was able to invent a controlled release antimicrobial agent that can augment the antimicrobial properties of endodontic sealers, and they received a provisional patent under Boston University rights.

Dr. Attar was appointed for teaching positions when he was a resident at Boston University. He taught Endodontics at the Advanced Education in General Dentistry, Postgraduate Operative and Esthetics, Digital Dentistry Fellowship, and predoctoral and postdoctoral Endodontics. In his position as full-time clinical assistant professor at Boston University, Dr. Attar had the privilege of teaching Endodontics and Implantology and working at a faculty practice where he treated moderate to difficult cases assigned to AEGD residents. The facility provided a multi-disciplinary approach in treatment planning with extensive training in microsurgical Endodontics, Cone Beam Computed Tomography, and regenerative Endodontics.

Working and studying at Boston was a great transition from Kansas City. Dr. Attar has been privileged to not only to be exposed to teaching multiple programs and courses, but also to work with a diverse group of students with different cultural and educational backgrounds. Recently, Dr. Attar relocated to Dallas-Fort Worth area where he has been privileged to be able to work with talented and passionate general dentists and specialists to provide excellent patient care.
